Push and Pull First Class

We have been learning all about push and pull forces. We worked in groups to construct a toy that can be pushed or pulled when played with. Take a look at our creations.

Minibeast First Class

We went on a hunt in the outdoor classroom searching for minibeasts. We checked under logs and stones and looked in the bug hotel and hedgehog box. We also searched in the grass and leaves around.

Coke and Mentos Experiment with Junior Infants 2018

We did a great experiment with the Junior Infants on Wednesday. We used Berocca bottles, Coke and Mentos. We filled the Berocca bottles to the three quarter mark. We added 1 Mentos first, the 2 , the 3 and even 4 Mentos.We shook the bottles containinng the mixture and we held the bottles away from us. A physical reaction took place in the bottle. It is called Nucleation. All the Carbon Dioxide in the bottle was trying to escape and a geyser was formed. Why not try this experiment at home. You can put a load of Mentos into the Coke bottle and watch the physical reaction occur. Stand back though!
